Workshop on OpenBIM & The Intelligent Built Environment

Yatzar Creations was delighted to be associated with the Civil Engineering Association (CEA) and the Training & Placement Division, National Institute of Technology Puducherry, for a two-day workshop on OpenBIM & The Intelligent Built Environment, held on 31 August and 1 September 2026.

The workshop was designed to go beyond the conventional learning of BIM tools, focusing on how BIM skills, industry practices, and digital workflows connect with real-world career opportunities in the AECO industry.

The sessions provided students with insights into the evolving expectations of the industry while introducing them to the importance of open standards, collaboration, information management, and technology-driven project delivery.

Key areas covered during the workshop included:

  • BIM Skills to Career Opportunities – Understanding the skills and competencies sought by the industry
  • Industry Interaction – Gaining insights into current AECO practices and professional expectations
  • Placement & Career Talk – Exploring career pathways and opportunities within the BIM and digital construction domain
  • Hands-on OpenBIM Workshop – Developing practical exposure to OpenBIM concepts and workflows
  • The Intelligent Built Environment – Exploring how information, technology, and collaboration are transforming the future of the built environment

The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning, industry expectations, and career readiness, helping students develop a broader understanding of how digital technologies are shaping the construction and engineering sector.

This initiative reflects Yatzar Creations’ commitment to:

  • Bridge the gap between academia and industry
  • Promote awareness of OpenBIM and collaborative digital workflows
  • Equip students with industry-relevant knowledge and skills
  • Support career readiness and professional development
  • Encourage the adoption of technology-driven practices in the AECO industry

We sincerely appreciate the Civil Engineering Association and Training & Placement Division of NIT Puducherry for providing this platform to engage with students and the wider civil engineering community.

We look forward to continuing our efforts to connect education, industry, and digital innovation, empowering the next generation of professionals to contribute to a smarter, more collaborative, and future-ready built environment.
