Workshop on - openBIM and Intelligent Building Modelling PSG TECH Coimbatore

Yatzar Creations, led by co-founder Dr. Simon Jayasingh, conducted a workshop on OpenBIM and Intelligent Building Modelling at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, providing students with an opportunity to explore the principles shaping the future of digital construction. 

The workshop introduced students to the fundamentals of openBIM, interoperability, global standards, and structured information management within the AECO industry. As part of this learning journey, students successfully earned the buildingSMART Entry Level badge, marking a meaningful first step into the world of openBIM. 

For many participants, the workshop provided their first exposure to important concepts such as IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) and ISO 19650, which form an essential foundation for collaborative and information-driven project delivery. 

More than earning a digital badge, the experience encouraged students to look beyond individual software tools and develop an understanding of how information is structured, shared, and managed throughout the lifecycle of a built asset.
